WEEKLY DEVELOPMENT QUESTIONS

HOW WOULD ELIJAH DESCRIBE HIS PARENTS?
Elijah would relate Eden to a bird and Klaus to a wolf. Eden, who abandoned the nest, and Klaus, who killed within it. Eden, beautiful and striking and gentle, and Klaus, cold and brutal and sharp. He would call say that Eden was immature, irresponsible, and in the same breath say that she had him too young—too soft himself to blame her for it. He would call Klaus reckless with a smile, all admiration for a trait he's always been too anxious to possess. This is if he ever did discuss his parents because, in almost every case, he won't.

DOES ELIJAH ENJOY BEING CARED ABOUT?
For Elijah, any amount of affection feels like putting his hand in hot water after standing outside in the freezing cold. It's good; too good; so good that it hurts. He doesn't know how to handle it. He craves, desperately, to be cared about as much as he cares about other people, but he thinks it's impossible. All evidence to the contrary makes him too attached, in a way that only sets him up to be dissapointed.

WOULD ELIJAH RATHER LIVE LIFE ALWAYS SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE, OR ALWAYS ALONE?
Alone. Despite her recent experiences in the Cosmias, what she interprets as her own 'default' state is still one of solitude. She's a lonely person, at her core, to a level that reaches self-definition. She would be too anxious about how she was being perceived to survive if she was constantly around other people.

WHAT IS SOMETHING ABOUT ELIJAH THAT MOST PEOPLE WOULD NOT EXPECT BASED SIMPLY ON LOOKING AT THEM?
Their capability in a fight and comfort with most weapons. They fight dirty, if not well, and were taught to prioritize getting away over anything else; it's like holding onto a wet cat, complete with both the scratching and the biting, if the wet cat had intimate knowledge of the weak points on the human body. That's unarmed. Klaus made sure that they could handle every weapon that he could—not because Elijah was ever expected to follow in his footsteps, but because they were in danger for the simple crime of being his child.

ARCHIVED UPDATE

As the result of the current quick event, Elijah has LOST THE MEMORY OF HIS MOTHER . Or, more accurately, he's lost the memory of EDEN BLUM . He knows he had a mother, and that she left when he was six, but his emotional investment in these events is entirely gone.

Elijah's resentment of his mother (and of himself, as a reflection of her choices) fuels a significant amount of his negative self image and distrust of others. And, without the memory of her and the values she instilled in him, he'll be more comfortable emulating his father.

Overall, this will have in a minor affect on Elijah's personality. He's had enough negative social experiences to leave a lasting impact on his comfort with other people. He's still going to be anxious socially and view himself in a negative light. But with a stronger influence from Klaus, and without the belief that he's fundamentally unloveable, he'll be less... subdued.
